The fish pulled the boat out to sea, but the old man held on even though he had no water, no food, no weapon, no helper and a cramp in his left hand. After two days and nights he finally killed the fish and tied him to the side of the boat. But at once many young sharks came to rob him of his spoil; He killed them one by one, until at last only a broken tiller was left as a weapon. As a result, the big fish was still eaten up the fate of the end, the old man exhausted to drag back a pair of fish bones. He went home and lay in bed, dreaming of the good old days and forgetting the cruel reality.
