• What are trees？
  • Trees, the general name of woody plants, is the kind of object that grows from the ground on land (except desert areas), mainly composed of roots, stems, branches, leaves, flowers and fruits. With the development of computer, in the data structure, the tree is extended to be composed of a set and a relationship defined on the set, and is composed of root nodes and several subtrees.
  • Trees are perennial plants with wooden trunks and branches. Generally, arbors are called trees. The trunk plant is one, and the branches are higher from the ground, which can form a crown. There are many kinds of trees.
• Morphological characteristics of trees
  • The annual ring is a layer produced by the growth of trees in a year. It appears on the cross section like a (or several) ring, surrounding the same rings produced in the past. The scale ring in fish refers to the boundary between the narrow band formed in autumn and winter of that year and the broad band formed in spring and summer of the next year. The secondary xylem produced by the vascular cambium of the annual ring in a growth period constitutes a growth ring. There is obvious seasonality. There is only one growth ring in a year, which is the age of the tree, also known as the tree ring.

• Why do we plant trees?
  • 1. Trees can reduce noise pollution. A 40 meter wide forest belt can reduce noise by 10-15 dB.
  • 2. Trees can prevent wind and sand, conserve water and soil, and absorb all kinds of dust. One mu of forest can absorb 20-60 tons of all kinds of dust a year.
  • 3. Trees can regulate climate and maintain ecological balance. Through photosynthesis, trees absorb carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen to make the air clean and fresh.
  • 4. Tree secretions kill bacteria. There are 30000 or 40000 bacteria per cubic meter of air in the open space, and only three or four in the forest.
  • 5. Industrial value, wood, wood carving and other wood products.
