假设意义表示法

• 式（mood）
  • 陈述式
    • 1陈述事实及就事实提出询问

    • 动词形式与原形同行
  • 虚拟式
    • 3表“假设意义”及“非事实意义”
    • 一般过去时，过去进行时，过去完成时
• “假设意义”的语法手段
  • 用动词过去时形式
    • 1 it is time（that）
    • 2 I would rather /sooner （that）you /he/they
    • 3 if only
    • 4he behavior as if /as though
      • i feel as if i was /were going to faint（我感觉我好像要晕倒了）没那么严重
      • i feel as if i am going to faint（我感觉我真的要晕倒了）差一点
    • 5 i wish that
      • 表示对将来事实的主观愿望，通常用某些情态动词 组动词的过去时表示
      • i wish you wouldn't smoke inpublic places
      • i hope 同样有希望的意思，但不表示假设意义
      • i hope you are ready
  • 用情态助动词的过去式
    • 条件句 ：if i were you ，i would not miss this opportunities
    • 含蓄条件句: Born in better times =(if he had been born in better times ) he would have done credit to profession of letters.
• 古英语残留
  • BE-型虚拟式
    • 在命令，决定，建议 ，要求之后的that-分句
      • 在 decide，decree（判决，颁布），demand（需要），insist，move（提议） ，order ，perfer， propose，recommend（推荐），request ，suggest，vote 等动词后的that-分句
      • 在advisable（明智的），appropriate，desirable（可取的），essential，fitting（合适的），imperative（加急的，表命令的），important ，impossible，necessarily，obligatory（法律，规则强制的），proper等形容词之后的that-从句
      • 在 decision，decrease（法令，判决），demand，instruction（命令，指示），order，requirement，order， resolution（决议，坚定）等名词后面的that-从句
      • 一坚持（order）二命令（order，command）三建议(suggest，propose，)四要求（demand，require，request，ask）从句用（should） ＋动词
    • 由if， though等连词引导分句
      • if ，though，whatever，least， so long as等引导的分句中表推测，让步，防备
    • 在某些公式化句子中表祝愿，诅咒，禁止等意义：god bless you
  • WERE-型虚拟式
    • 因为不管主语是什么人称，动词一律用were。它只出现在单数第三人称主语后面
    • 在if ，if only，as if ，as though， though引导条件状语和让步状语分句子 表非真实的条件和让步
    • 在wish，would rather，suppose，imagine之后的that-从句表不可能发生的情况:i wish it were spring all years round .
    • 上述were-型在第一，三人称单数主语之后被was所代替：if it was to rain，the game would be put off
    • 在if i were you 分句中 和as it were =so to speak （宛如 好比）通常用were：he is my best friend，my second self ，as it were
