• Questions
  • {44} is it...? have you...? do they...?
    • In questions, the first verb is before the subject
      • positive(subject+verb) => question(verb(first)+subject)
    • Why isn't...?/ Why don't...? etc.
  • {45} Who saw you? Who did you see?
    • Subject >< Object
      • Somebody saw Paul => Who saw Paul?
      • Silvia saw somebody => Who did Silvia see?
    • Who >< What
      • somebody >< something
  • {46} Who is she talking to? What is it like?
    • In questions beginning W-, prepositions(to/form/with etc.) usually go at the end
    • What's it like = tell me something about it - is it good or bad, big or small, old or new(etc.)?
      • 'like' is a preposition

    • What + noun(colour/kind etc.) or without
    • Which + noun(things/people) or a class of noun
    • What >< which
      • when we are thinking about a small number of possibilities(2,3,4), we use which; More general, use what
    • How + adj/adv

    • say and tell
      • We say he said to me, he told to me etc.(Not'he told me, he said me')
      • Use past simple

      • He said that he was tired = He said he was tired
