• Life
  • Born in Concord in 1817.
  • He graduated from Harvard in 1837.
  • When he studied there, Thoreau walked 18 miles to Boston to hear Emerson's lecture.
  • He used to live in Emerson’s house for more than a year, doing chores and serving as a general handyman. What’s the most important is ab sorbing many of the Emerson's ideas.
