冠词和名词单复数

• a/an不定冠词的使用
  • a/an+可数名词
    • 子主题
  • a+元音开头：unique, university, union, European
  • an+辅音开头：hour, honour
• the定冠词的使用
  • the+可数名词，表示一类东西，或特指。
  • 一般不用，除非特指
    • the+不可数名词：Education is important to one's job prospects. 不能用The education
    • the+可数名词复数: Parents tend to prefer boarding schools to day schools. 不能用The parents
  • The+形容词：
    • 如the only, the main, the same, the top. 例句：People with the same experience should be paid the same
  • The+序数词/形容词最高级：Tourism has become the top earner of foreign currency for many countries since the late twentieth century.
• 名词的单复数
  • 词/短语+可数名词复数形式：a few, few, a variety of, various, other, numerous, a number of, different, one of, many, several, these.例句：Smoking cessation is one of the likely factors that contribute to the development of obesity.
  • 词+可数名词单数：any other, another, each, neither, either. 例句：Many teenagers begin smoking habits due to peer pressure but not for any other reason.
  • 词/短语+不可数名词： a little, little, less, much, a large amount of. 例句：Little progress has been made towards tackling poverty.
